STS Isolamenti designs and manufactures soundproofing systems for power plants, energy-generation facilities and energy distribution infrastructure. We address the noise generated by turbines and large transformers, both of which can produce significant low-frequency emissions.
We develop complex acoustic containment and screening systems for these facilities, enabling structural and acoustic integration with the surrounding residential areas.
Low-Frequency Noise Control
Large energy infrastructure tends to generate very low-frequency vibrations and sound waves that are difficult to mitigate by way of conventional sound-absorbing panels.
We apply the study of acoustic metamaterials and specialized solutions in engineering to intercept the mechanical energy generated by this equipment before it propagates through the surrounding terrain or atmosphere.
Soundproofing for Turbines, Transformers and Auxiliary Systems
Each noise source requires its own specific approach. When it comes to turbines and rotating machinery, we analyze the noise generated by the operation of the equipment and auxiliary equipment as well as intake and exhaust systems.
For transformers, we consider low-frequency tonal components along with any vibration transferred to surrounding structures.
