Acoustic Design for Recording and Listening
The slightest uncontrolled acoustic factor in a music studio can become a flaw in the recording. Inadequate sound isolation not only compromises the mixing process, but it can also limit artistic expression.
We approach acoustic design for these spaces with the same analytical rigor as we apply to industrial environments, physically decoupling structures in order to eliminate the mechanical transmission of low-frequency energy and drum impact sound.
Guaranteed Sound Isolation and Internal Acoustic Response
Our designs are developed on two complementary planes. In order to limit sound transmission to adjacent spaces, we build decoupled structures based on the “room within a room” principle, scaled to suit the characteristics of the building and according to the to the frequencies to be attenuated.
Within the space itself, we adjust the layout, absorption and diffusion in order to control reverberation, reflections and low-frequency response. We define performance targets to meet the specific requirements of the project and then verify that we have met those targets by way of acoustic measurements.
