Acoustic double glazing: Does It Really Work?

Acoustic double glazing is an essential component of a window system when the goal is to achieve good levels of both acoustic and thermal insulation.

However, in many cases, standard double glazing fitted in any modern window frame is sufficient to provide good sound insulation.

It is not uncommon for existing double glazing to be replaced with thicker, heavier alternatives without achieving any improvement in acoustic insulation.

Why does this happen?

The real problem with most noisy windows is the presence of acoustic leaks, which occur during installation. The only reason these are not addressed, either during installation or through subsequent repair work, is that their existence is often overlooked.

After years of research and studies into the physics of noise propagation, we can confidently state that the only way to achieve a truly effective and lasting result is through a complete and properly executed Acoustic Remediation intervention.

This approach is more effective—and more cost-efficient—than replacing the glass or even the entire window frame.
