Penelope a Casa: acoustic comfort integrated into the restaurant design
Penelope a Casa is a restaurant in Milan renowned for its distinctive interior design. The venue, which is always bustling, has gained popularity on Instagram precisely for the unique and sumptuous character of its ambiance.
The owners turned to STS Isolamenti for an acoustic treatment project for the dining room. We were tasked with creating a more comfortable acoustic environment while preserving the existing aesthetic of the space.
To achieve this objective, we used a sound-absorbing material the same color as the ceiling. The intervention is virtually invisible as it blends seamlessly with the existing decor.
In addition, we soundproofed the extraction hoods in the kitchen. Without inhibiting performance of the equipment, we treated and insulated both the motor, which is located within the premises, and the system outlet in the external courtyard.
The entire project was completed in just two half-days, scheduled to coincide with the restaurant’s Monday morning closing hours.
