Home Music Room M52: 52 dB of Acoustic Insulation for a Professional Pianist
STS Isolamenti designed a Home Music Room M52 for Ivano Palma, a professional pianist and piano teacher. In this fully soundproofed “room within a room” he is able to practice in his own apartment without disturbing his family or neighbors.
The acoustic insulation technology was applied to the ceiling, floors and walls, all without significantly diminishing the space or altering the room’s aesthetic appearance.
HD-printed sound-absorbing panels that blend seamlessly with the interior design were applied to the walls, and, to complete the project, we also installed an acoustic door.
The intervention resulted in a 52 dB reduction in sound transmission.
