Sisme: custom acoustic enclosure with 40 dB noise reduction
At Sisme S.p.A. in Olgiate Comasco, the electric motors manufactured are tested in an area of the facility where and while other activities are taking place, and the noise generated during the process disturbs the operators.
In an effort to limit noise propagation, STS Isolamenti constructed a large-scale acoustic enclosure measuring 9 × 6 × 4 m (approximately 30 x 20 x 13 ft) designed to isolate the testing area. The solution incorporates our patented Masse Flottanti™ technology, which allows for tailored acoustic solutions that can be customized from an aesthetic perspective as well.
As part of the project, such internal structural elements as the main and side access doors to the testing area, the observation window and the ventilation system were also treated using Masse Flottanti™ technology.
The project, which we were able to complete in 20 days, resulted in 40 dB noise reduction.
