San Raffaele Hospital: high-performance noise reduction
After numerous cooling towers had been installed at the San Raffaele Hospital Cogeneration Plant in Milan, the resulting noise impact was such that a solution was needed to mitigate it.
The STS Isolamenti team addressed the issue in partnership with the GKSD Energy Management team, tailoring a solution over the course of five months. The project was completed and finalized in 2024.
Making use of our patented Slim Hurdle™ and Quiet Leaf™ technologies, we were able to reduce noise levels significantly (-18 dB(A)) while maintaining virtually unchanged system performance (a post-intervention performance level of 97%).
In addition, the proposed solution facilitates easy access for maintenance, helping to keep operating and management costs under control.
